Harry Styles fans might argue that the Fine-Line singer is carrying the weight of the music industry in 2022- and we are not wrong. Being a massive harrie myself, I obviously took it upon myself to stay up for the global drop of his third studio album, ‘Harry’s House’ (who could blame me? I’d do anything for this man) which is now out on Apple Music, Spotify and Youtube in most countries around the world.

Harries worldwide waited in anticipation for the album to drop, and after years of misleading fan tweets such as ‘HS3 at midnight!!!,’ it’s an understatement to say absolutely none of us were prepared to hear this. Harry, having previously appeared on both the Zane Lowe show and making an appearance on the Howard Stern show earlier this week, has described this album as a bit more intimate and significant- in his words, he is focusing on making music personal and meaningful to him, and no longer trying to put out ‘generic pop music’ (apologies, Watermelon Sugar, we still love you).
Having announced his setlist a few weeks earlier harries eagerly claimed their tracks off the album, predicting the genre to be psychedelic rock- and we were pretty surprised. Although the songs are largely about romance and ‘making love,’ they take quite a dark turn when you delve deeper into the lyrics and seemingly address specific people and situations. Lyrically, the lyrics are heavier and deeper, as we have previously seen with the lyrics of the first hit single of the album ‘As it Was,’ despite its catchy, up funk beats. The instrumental work throughout all of these songs is impeccable, and the album gives off so many different vibes from the singer’s previous works, self-titled ‘Harry Styles’ and the more recent ‘Fine Line.’ In a good way, of course.
The singer has smoothly transitioned into his new era with the 13 tracks featured on the album, with eccentric names such as ‘Grapejuice-’ but that was to be expected, ‘Matilda,’ ‘Music for a Sushi Restaurant’ and many more, most of which will most likely make an appearance on the charts in less than a few days, hours maybe. ‘Late Night Talking,’ a track Harry had revealed along with ‘Boyfriends’ at Coachella a few weeks back, is shown as the second single off the album. (As it should, and we are manifesting the yellow bird music video drop soon!)
It's safe to say that I didn’t get any sleep last night, partially the album’s fault for being so addictive and having such a variety of sounds. Harry kicks off the album with the catchy beats of‘Music For a Sushi Restaurant’ which is already a massive hit among fans. The bridge is just as good as the bridge of ‘As it Was’ and I’m sure I’m not the only one who blushed when hearing the bridge lyrics. The second song and second single, ‘Late Night Talking,’ most of which we have already heard thanks to his performance at Coachella, was also highly anticipated, and it’s evident that the studio version is just as enjoyable.

‘Grapejuice,’ followed by the iconic As It Was, quite literally scratches that itch in your brain. The instruments on both of them are flawless, carrying a recurring theme throughout the tracks. The fifth track, ‘Daylight,’ is an easy-going romance song, perfect for road trips. The bridge is my serotonin. I don’t know how I’ve spent my life without the ‘Daylight’ bridge, but now that I’ve found it I will never, ever get tired of it. ‘Little Freak,’ a song everyone predicted would be a hormone-driven rock song, presumably for late nights- I know you know- has turned us into tear and mascara-stained messes. ‘Little Freak’ hits all the right spots and it is definitely in many fans’ top five songs.
One of my personal favourites is Matilda- a banger, a sad banger, a sobbing-in-the-bathroom-at-3-am-banger. The lyrics? Genius. His voice? Heartbreaking. Healing. Therapy. You get the vibes. Amongst my other personal favourites are ‘Cinema-’ “do you think I’m cool, too, or am I too into ya?” same Harry, same- and the chill, laid back ‘Satellite’ with its jaw-dropping bridge and buildup.
The 9th track, ‘Daydreaming,’ instantly captured my attention. The upbeat chorus instantly plastered a smile onto my face- and it's not a lie when I say I wanted to get out of bed at that ungodly hour of morning and dance to it. ‘Keep Driving’ is another banger, the single-word lyrics rhyming with each other seamlessly. Simple, but beautiful. Is it an exaggeration to claim that all the bridges in this album are perfect? Finally, we have ‘Boyfriends’ which we have already heard at Coachella, but the studio version is guaranteed sadder. The closing track on the album, ‘Love Of My Life’ has left me speechless. The lyrics, the bridge, the meaning, the backtrack. It's simply perfect.

The album has already reached #1 on Itunes just a few hours after its release and fans everywhere have sky-high hopes for it. Proud is an understatement. Harry Styles, you’ve done it again.
