Being a huge Harry Potter fan, this film was highly anticipated especially after the delay due to Covid. I adore the Fantastic Beasts franchise so this for me was one I'd been excited about for a long time.

The excitement came off the back of Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, where we saw that this next film was going to dig into the past of Dumbledore and open up the relationship between himself and Grindelwald from their Hogwarts days.

I went in VERY nervous with Mads Mikkelson replacing Johnny Depp in the role of Grindelwald and I had no reason to be. Mikkelson slotted in the role of Grindelwald perfectly and had the best on-screen chemistry with Jude Law. I was really impressed with how the replacement didn't feel jarring and flowed with previous films. Although I missed Depp and his incredible image during the first two films of the franchise, I am not disappointed with Mikkelson taking on the role.

Being the third film in the franchise, there are many burning questions finally answered such as; How did Ariana die, Did Dumbledore actually love Grindelwald and many more. This was the perfect film for any Harry Potter fan.

Another bonus for the potter heads out there was the number of references to the original film series. During the film, we are welcomed back to Hogwarts and in that time we are also reunited with the Room of Requirement as well as the Hogwarts Express.

Being in love with Newt Scamander, I was highly disappointed with the lack of screen time he had during this film, especially in comparison to previous films and how we didn't get much progression with him and Tina until the very end of the movie.

However, the ending had me feeling all gooey and mushy with how wholesome it was. With a large reunion and seeing all our favourite characters living in peace, well for now anyway.

I am excited to see how these films continue and what else they have in store for us potter heads.
