It's not very often that we get to say there is new Harry Styles music, however, today is that day.
The journey started back in 2020, in the midst of the pandemic when people were suffering through the loneliness of isolation. Styles took to writing, in locations such as London, L.A. and Tokyo, as a way to pass time and vocalise his struggles. Although he had perfected his third solo album in 2021, he remained singing his 'Fine Line' album through the American stretch of his 'Love on Tour'. With the album 'Fine Line' drawing to a sobering close there is now a new excitement brewing over the expectations of Styles' new album, 'Harry's House', which is set for release on May 20th 2022.
Styles began rattling the world with his newest album when an account named 'youarehome' began posting images of photos behind doors, along with tweeting lyrics - or what are assumed to be. Of course, the fan theories began and many thought this was another 'VisitEroda' moment, whereby Styles created a whole other place for promotion. In the last album an entire island was created, so could this album have an entire house created?
As of the 1st of April at midnight BST Harry sent the world into chaos over releasing his new debut single, 'As It Was' for his third era. A teaser for the song was released a day before, inspiring people to believe the song would take on a 70s disco approach. The build-up to the single dropping was intense, with thousands of his fans taking to Twitter to share the anticipation in their own frenzied ways. The release of the single came with a music video, on YouTube, which also sent people wondering whether they should listen to the single alone first or watch the music video and listen simultaneously. What did you do?

'As It Was' was a marvel to the music industry. It is so clear that Styles is made of magic, as he never fails to make luscious and heartwarming music. The sound of his new song seems to be heavily inspired by the 70s and perhaps his favourite childhood artists, whereby the tune is alive and happy. The lyrics, however, could not be more misunderstood. They are sombre and reflective, making it a powerful song to release as the newest single for the exact reason that so many people will connect with it. As for the music video, well it truly only speaks for itself.
Harry Styles' new era has only just begun, but it is quite clear that it will be bigger and better than ever. Other artists should watch out because Harry Styles is back
