For the first time since November 2019, Yungblud has finally come back to Copenhagen on his Life On Mars Tour. The tour was announced in October 2020 but was pushed back a whole year due to Covid, finally kicking off in September 2021 in the US and in April 2022 in Europe.
I got my tickets back in December 2020 while I still lived in Denmark but I had moved away so I had to fly back there for this show, but God, it was worth it. After about 13 hours of waiting in the cold and rain, we should have been run down but the people in line were all amazing and we had fun the whole time. With a fan-organised numbered queueing system, we were let into the venue just 2 minutes after the official door opening time. The first 50 people who bought their tickets were lucky enough to meet Dom before the show and got early access to the venue, so I got a place in 2nd row but as this was a small place I could still see everything very well.
At 8 pm sharp, the opening act, Boy Bleach came on stage. I had never heard of them before but they put on an incredible show and were the perfect opening act for Yungblud. After about a half an hour set, they left the stage and the anticipation for Dom to start had begun. The lights went off at exactly 9 pm but they made us wait a couple of minutes longer, pressing on our nerves. When his pre-recorded speech started playing, the whole place erupted in screams and they just got even louder when he entered the stage.

His energy was unmatched, the way he owned the stage was incredible, and he really was born to perform. He danced, he jumped and made us jump, let us sing tons and he made the whole room feel safe and like a big family. He mentioned multiple times how loud we were and was flabbergasted every single time we sang louder than him. He did his usual stunt by kissing his guitarist with a pride flag wrapped around his hand and he even got off stage during The Funeral and he was just in front of me and the people I queued with.

I was even lucky enough to get on stage with him. I had made a sign saying “help me come out?” which he noticed the three times I held it up. At the end of Mars, he called four of us on stage and asked us to hold up our signs/flags then we sang the end of the song with him. He hugged us all and spent a couple of seconds talking to each of us. He was extremely attentive and sweet and being up there with him has got to be one of the best experiences of my life.
After getting off stage, we were led back into the crowd and everyone let us back to our previous places, congratulating us. The rest of the show felt even more unreal and I cried my eyes out every time he so much as looked in the direction where I was standing. At the end of the show, he told us he’d be outside soon so we all left to get merch as quickly as possible.

He came to the venue entrance about half an hour after the show ended and thanked us all for coming, then went around the front of the barricade created by security, taking selfies and signing things. Luckily the people who got pictures, went to the back of the crowd, letting others have a chance so I was able to get in the back of a couple of people’s selfies and even managed to get his signature.
Overall, I would say this was the best concert I have ever been to. All the travelling and waiting was worth it, the people I met were some of the best people so even though I went alone and didn’t know anyone there, I didn’t feel lonely for a second. The atmosphere Dom created felt incredibly safe and accepting and I have never felt more loved than I did there. So, if you are debating whether or not to see him live: do it. You will not regret it.
